BINANI AIR Receives Air Operator Certificate, Set For Scheduled Flight Operations,

Press statement for immediate release.

Abuja, Nigeria.

BINANI AIR Global Services proudly announces that it has been granted an Air Operator Certificate, (AOC), by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA), authorizing the airline to commence scheduled commercial flight operations in Nigeria.

The certification marks a defining moment, not only for BINANI AIR, but for the broader Nigerian aviation industry, signaling the entry of a purpose-driven airline into a highly competitive sector.

Speaking during the presentation in Abuja, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Chris Najomo, described the development as a historic milestone, noting that the emergence of BINANI AIR represents a significant breakthrough in an industry traditionally dominated by men. His remarks echo sentiments widely reported by leading Nigerians, who have highlighted the airline’s journey as both symbolic and transformative for gender inclusion in aviation.

Captain Najomo further commended the resilience and discipline demonstrated by the airline throughout the rigorous certification process. The NCA emphasized that BINANI AIR consistently met stringent regulatory requirements, reflecting a commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

He, however, cautioned that the award of an AOC is only the beginning, stressing that there is no room for shortcuts in the aviation industry and urging the airline to sustain the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and strategic planning as it transitions into full operations.

Reacting to the developments, founder and chairperson of BINANI AIR, Aishatu Binani described the certification as both a challenging and rewarding achievement.

“This milestone reflects not just regulatory approval, but the culmination of vision, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The journey has tested us, but it has also strengthened our resolve to deliver a safe, reliable, and customer-focused airline for Nigerians”, she said.

She expressed deep appreciation to the NCAA for its professionalism and guidance throughout the process, a position reinforced in multiple reports that have commended the regulator through the transparent certification procedures.

Senator Binani also acknowledged the enabling support of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the honorable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barrister Festus Keyamo, noting that ongoing reforms and policy direction within the aviation sector have created a more conducive environment for indigenous airlines to thrive.

As BINANI AIR prepares to commence operations, the airline reiterates its commitment to delivering world-class service anchored on safety, innovation, and operational integrity. The company remains focused on connecting cities, creating opportunities, and contributing meaningfully to the growth of Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.

BINANI AIR Global Services is a Nigerian airline committed to redefining air travel through safety, efficiency, and a superior customer’s experience. With a strong foundation in regulatory compliance and operational excellence, the airline is poised to become a trusted carrier within Nigeria and beyond.
